NEWPIN supports our Community with Volunteering and are always in undated with volunteers.
At present we have 10 Volunteers who are supporting NEWPIN's vital work in the Community.
Their help is valuable and welcomed.
Whilst this is of great significant to NEWPIN it also has a part in helping increase their confidence and potentially guide them into their own further education and jobs.
Our volunteers
are past members who want to give back to the service having moved on since being a part of the service themselves. Training is offered to support our Volunteers, and we also have our elderly
volunteers.
I started volunteering at NEWPIN's Stay and Play sessions about a year ago. It has been an incredible experience. Carol and Gloria were so supportive when I started and I was quickly able to find my place. Each week, I help set up the play areas, assist with arts and crafts and spend time with engaging with the children during their free play. I have also noticed how much the parents and carers appreciate the extra support. Many of those who come tell me how it gives them a little time to relax and connect with other adults, and feel part of this friendly community. It has taught me that volunteering can go a long way with a bit of patience, creativity and a lot about child development. Every session leaves me smiling knowing that the children's energy and enthusiasm are contagious. I always look forward seeing everyone.
Volunteering here at NEWPIN has completely changed my perspective! I never realised how much a few hours a week could impact our Over 60's group. It is truly rewarding to me. Seeing their smiles, laughter and all of the new friendships that have been built makes every hour here worthwhile! Knowing that I get to help our older members on Thursday and Fridays is all thanks to NEWPIN themselves!
Thank you, Carol and Gloria. You’ve made my volunteer journey unforgettable, and I’m lucky to have learned everything from you both with your guidance along the way and allowing me to volunteer with both community groups.
From the energy and laughter of the little ones to the warm conversations and stories shared by the older adults. But honestly this is all thanks to them both as a past member of NEWPIN community centre to allow to come back to where it all began for me!
They are the heart of what makes this place so special. Their passion for the community and their care for every single person who walks through the door is inspiring. They don’t just do their jobs they go above and beyond, every single day.
