⭐ In Partnership for Positive Change ⭐

Our Stay & Play sessions directly support the priorities of funders such as John Lyon’s Charity, who champion education, wellbeing, and community inclusion for children and young people.

Through this programme, we:

Promote early childhood development and school readiness by offering play-based learning that supports communication, motor skills, and social confidence.

Strengthen family relationships by providing a supportive environment where parents and carers can connect, share experiences, and build peer networks.

Encourage inclusion and community cohesion by welcoming families from all backgrounds and creating a sense of belonging for everyone.

Support mental health and wellbeing for both children and parents/carers through social connection, structured play, and positive engagement.

Deliver measurable outcomes through attendance tracking, feedback, and developmental observations, ensuring accountability and continuous improvement.

This alignment demonstrates our shared commitment with John Lyon’s Charity to help children and families thrive, build stronger communities, and create lasting positive change.

Our Families' Stories

My daughter loves the songs and story-time. She’s learning new words and gaining confidence, and I’ve made new friends too which I'm so happy about! Carol is wonderful, my child adores her and always looks forward to seeing her when she enters the doors for Stay and Play.
Fatima, parent

We moved to the area recently, and this Stay and Play group helped my child make friends quickly. It’s friendly, relaxed, and full of laughter for both children and parents.

Maria, parent.

My child enjoys playing with others and learning new skills every week. The Program Lead creates such a warm, welcoming space when we come in.
Michael, carer.

Looking Ahead

Our work supports key funder priorities, ensuring long-term community impact.

  •  Expanding partnerships with local nurseries and community groups to reach more families
We aim to work closely with additional local nurseries, early years providers, and community organisations to ensure that Stay & Play reaches families who may benefit most from support, including those who are socially isolated or from disadvantaged backgrounds. By building stronger networks, we can increase participation, share resources, and create more seamless pathways for children into early education programmes.

  • We plan to enhance our sessions with targeted play-based learning activities designed for children at different stages of development. This includes sensory play for babies, early literacy and numeracy activities for toddlers, and structured social games for preschoolers. These activities will support skill development, confidence, and curiosity, ensuring each child receives age-appropriate stimulation and guidance.

  •  Continuing to provide a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment for families and young children
Our priority remains creating a space where every child and parent feels welcomed, valued, and supported. This includes maintaining high staff-to-child ratios, offering personalised attention, and fostering an atmosphere of mutual respect. Accessibility, inclusion, and emotional safety are central to everything we do.

  •  Monitoring Outcomes and Gathering Feedback
We are committed to regularly assessing our programme's impact through feedback from families and staff. This data will inform continuous improvements, ensuring that our programme remains effective and aligned with the needs of the community.
